Calvin Nong has helped San Diego homeowners create their dream home for over 20 years. He obtained his contracting license in 1998 and since then, has worked on a variety of projects.
He specializes in hardscape with concrete walkways, BBQ islands, and retaining walls. With his Bobcat and dump truck, Calvin can cut through dirt, demolish concrete, and move heavy material.
His expertise and tools allow him and his team to work without interruption. He’s responsive, timely, and able to work within strict budgets.

Steve S.January 2, 2024I don't often write reviews but Calvin and his team did such a super job I felt to compelled to recommend him to others. I've been a homeowner for over thirty years and have hired contractors for many different jobs, including adding a second story addition. I also manage a small apartment complex that requires occasional upgrades. My experience with Calvin was nothing but positive. From the initial phone call to the site survey to the planning and finally to installation Calvin was on point. I had a good plan in mind but with Calvin's knowledge we came up with an improved version of my original vision. My project included removal of the entire front yard; mostly lawn. He then installed the following: Three zone drip irrigation which included new valves New low voltage yard lighting Tied in to the existing drain pipes and added additional A low wall made with cinder block covered with natural stone New DG pathway with natural stone insets Creating artistic mounding of the new 4"s of topsoil that was delivered Installing over 75 new plants Adding a layer of redwood mulch Adding 3-5" cobblestones to the areas not covered in mulch Calvin's price was very reasonable and there were absolutely no surprises. Paid in three installments as work progressed. There were a few minor changes as the project progressed and Calvin's response was always positive and an affirmative "Got it". From initial call to end of job no longer than 2 1/2 weeks AND Calvin is the guy doing the work, with a few additional helpers. He's a small business owner who takes pride in his work and makes sure it's done right. I was so impressed I had Calvin install a new concrete side yard for me a few weeks later. You'll be happy to have found Calvin....I just wish I had earlier!Verified

I initially had Calvine work on the side of my house adding concrete, turf, irrigation, and palms. The project ran very smooth and Calvine and his team were very quick and efficient. I was so happy with the work he had done on the side of the house, that very shortly after I pulled the trigger with Calvine on a front yard makeover. We updated our driveway adding a secondary carport area and turned a raggedy front yard and island dead space into something with a clean and modern feel. The result was amazing! Calvine not only brought my landscaping project to life, he didn't cut any corners in doing so and performed honest and quality work. I would even say, he was very accepting and tolerable of last minute tweaks and changes to the project as it was moving along. He and the team: - releveled yards and installed drainage (yay, no more flooding!) - installed a beautiful horizontal fence, with cabling to enable backyard views - put in a new paver driveway, with patience while we waited for our backordered pavers - put in turf in the front, and sod in the back - installed a smart lighting system - installed a smart irrigation system, with drip lines I can't recommend Calvin enough. He was patient when we were indecisive, and helped us figure out our options so we could make informed decisions. He's also incredibly responsive over email and text, which made me feel a little less anxious about such a big project. Thank you Calvin and Santiago! (Note, pics are about a year old because this review is a bit late. I just remembered I forgot to post a review, because I damaged a part of the irrigation system and texted Calvin for replacement information so I could buy it online. Rachael D.May 26, 2022Calvine remodeled our back and front yard to include: a retainer wall, lattice fence, shrubs, concrete driveway extensions, sprinkler system, paver repair, and sod installation. He listened to everything we wanted in our yard and really took on board our priority of making our dogs happy. I had never expected to work with a contractor that was so kind, attentive, and communicative. Aside from the incredible hospitality, his craftsmanship was superb. There were many small gestures throughout that showed us he truly cares about his work. We had run into an issue with the city which didn't allow us to have our fence up to 6' as originally planned, and Calvine swept in with the idea of adding shrubs to give us more privacy. We are truly impressed with the time he took to ensure the details of the project were what we wanted and he communicated with us at each crossroad. This was a huge project, and we felt completely taken care of in his hands. Overall, we are so happy with our new yard, fence, and sprinkler system and recommend Calvine for any landscape project big or small.Verified

We redid our front yard after needing to replace rotten wood fence. Shopped around and pretty easy decision to go with Calvine Landscape. Integrity and professionalism from start to finish with very fair pricing. Had great ideas to add to what we thought we wanted and but never pushed. Always insured our delighted satisfaction at each step. He has some good ideas and great workmanship. He flexed his schedule to accommodate our home online schooling and other pandemic related manufacturing issues. Our project consisted of changing porch skirt to match the house sideing hardiplank, and add a matching front gate with house siding/pergola and two front matching columns with lights, mailbox etc. Brick border lawn inside fence with drip irrigation for all plants outside of fence (all grass before and used tons of water....). Did some concrete work on the side and added bamboo planter and irrigation in back. I really appreciate the work ethic, craftsmanship, ideas, and value that Calvin brings to the job, but mostly I value his integrity and professionalism.
